Right now, my husband and I have work schedules that allow us to cook most of our own meals at home. However, having both spent many years in the hospitality business, there were times in the past when we were too tired or there simply weren’t enough hours in the day. (Holiday season especially!)
When I heard about a growing dining delivery service called DoorDash, I wanted to share because this would have been amazing when we were both working full time, and I know quite a few people that could make good use of this! Actually, DoorDash food delivery is super easy and fast, PLUS it’s more affordable than you would expect, so I can think of more than a few occasions as a stay at home mom that this would really come in handy too!
How many times have you been craving one of your favorite restaurants, but driving over to pick up a take-out order just wasn’t an option? Maybe you were feeling under the weather, or perhaps the baby was finally down for a nap and you were stuck at home. Imagine making a few simple clicks in an app and having a restaurant-quality meal delivered to your door in less than an hour?
Ok, so food delivery isn’t an entirely new concept – BUT – typically it’s usually limited to the “usual” suspects: pizza, Chinese, or the occasional sandwich shop. However, DoorDash food delivery has developed relationships with hundreds of restaurants in 22 major markets, so there are tons of options! In fact, a quick search of my old stomping grounds in Uptown Houston gave me 378 results—wow!
I’ll admit that I expected to pay a premium for such a convenience, but the delivery charge is surprisingly modest: a $4.99-$
If you live in one of the cities DoorDash currently serves (listed below), I’ve got a special code that will get you $7 OFF your first order ($15 min.) Just enter: “SOCCERMOM” at checkout. Seriously, that’s too good to pass up!
