Eggnog White Russian Cocktail
A fun twist on the classic cocktail, this Eggnog White Russian uses creamy eggnog instead of milk for a delightful holiday drink!
Eggnog White Russian
Eggnog is a holiday staple! My family has a homemade eggnog recipe that has been passed down through generations and is soooo good. However, it is SUPER boozy and it takes a whole week to make! So if you’re craving that eggnog flavor but are short on time, this Eggnog White Russian is just the thing! (But if you DO have the time, I highly recommend our family eggnog recipe…it is worth the effort and it’s a big batch that will last for a while!)
This recipe starts with traditional White Russian ingredients and simply swaps out the cream or milk with festive eggnog. It seems like a small change, but it really makes big difference!
The creamy texture and warm spices of the eggnog perfectly complement the coffee and vodka, creating a smooth and flavorful drink that is perfect for festive gatherings.
I love this recipe because it uses just 3 simple ingredients, takes only a few minutes of prep time and is SO easy to make, but it is sure to wow your guests this holiday season! It is also perfect for sipping by the fire or watching holiday movies. I hope it will become one of your favorite recipes too!

Ingredients

- 1 oz Vodka
- 2 oz Coffee Liqueur (such as Kahlua)
- 3 oz Eggnog
Helpful Bartender Tools
- Stainless steel 2-piece cocktail shakerย ย โ This is the style I learned to bartend with and still prefer, but you can use a cocktail shaker with a built-in strainer too. Whatever youโre comfortable with will work!
- Jigger – For measuring out liquid ingredients.
Recipe intended for readers 21+; please enjoy responsibly!
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add all ingredients to the shaker and shake for 5 seconds to blend and chill.
- Strain and pour into a cocktail glass with ice.
Prep Tips
- Garnish – This is a delightfully decadent drink all on its own, but you can totally jazz things up with festive toppings. Traditional garnishes for eggnog are a dollop of whipped cream and maraschino cherries. You could also top with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon or nutmeg or garnish with 1-2 whole cinnamon sticks.
- Vodka –ย We used classic vodka for this recipe to keep it simple. However, flavored vodka would taste fantastic here, especially vanilla vodka! The vanilla flavors would give it an extra creaminess that is so delicious.
- Eggnog – Because we already have vodka and coffee liqueur in this drink, I recommend using a non-alcoholic eggnog for this recipe. Feel free to use store-bought or homemade eggnogs, whichever you have handy or that you prefer.
- Variations – Want to add an extra kick to your drink? Add a shot of espresso to the cocktail shaker when mixing. I do recommend letting the espresso cool first. You can also try different flavors of coffee liqueur, such as Kahlua Cinnamon Spice. Yum!
- Make Itย For a Crowd –ย If you want to make more than one serving at a time, you can simply double or triple the ingredient amounts and stir together in a pitcher. Keep refrigerated until you’re ready to serve, then simply pour the cocktail mixture into glasses of ice.
