Hawaiian Roll Sliders
Whether or not you’re a die-hard football fan, a game day party is a fun excuse to get together with family and friends, and share yummy food and drink!
When planning a game day party, or any party for that matter, supplies can quickly add up. That’s why we put together this tip sheet for a thrifty game day party. Snacks, drinks, and decor — all for under $30 from Save-A-Lot!
This is our favorite Hawaiian Sliders recipe. Sliders are the perfect party food, and they’re super simple to make! These are one of the most popular recipes ever on our blog – try them and you’ll see why!
First, we started with sweet Hawaiian rolls — they’re fluffy and flavorful and the perfect canvas for our sandwich dish! And yes, this is a dish full of mini sandwiches! It makes a great party appetizer because it’s easy to make all at once and feeds a crowd!
We placed the bottom half of the rolls in a baking dish and then layered on all the fixin’s — savory ham, creamy cheese, juicy pineapple — and then put the top of the buns on and covered it all in a tangy sauce.
The sauce melts into the bread, the cheese melts into the ham, and it all melts in your mouth! Seriously…this is one amazing sandwich that will have you licking your fingers to get every last morsel!

- Deli Ham
- Sliced Cheese
- Hawaiian buns
- Butter
- Minced garlic
- Worcestershire sauce
- Canned pineapple rings
Kitchen Tools Used
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Slice the Hawaiian buns in half as a sheet.
- In a baking dish, layer the bottom halves of the Hawaiian sweet rolls, sliced ham, cheese, and pineapple, then cover with the top half of the buns.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the garlic and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until combined.
- Pour the melted butter mixture on top of the rolls and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes. The story butter will soak into the rolls and impart them with so much flavor!
- Cover the sliders with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melty. Uncover and cook for 3-5 minutes to just crisp up the tops.
Remove from oven and allow to cool just enough to handle (they are definitely best enjoyed warm and melty!) Use a serrated knife or spatula to cut apart into individual sliders.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Best Cheese to Use?
You can pretty much use any type of cheese for this recipe and it will taste amazing! A cheese that melts well is preferable: Swiss cheese, cheddar cheese, provolone, are all great options!
What I love about this recipe is that it is easy to modify so it’s just the way you like it! You can use more meat or less, more cheese or less cheese. You could even use a different meat — chicken would taste delicious too!
How Do You Store Leftover Sliders?
These sliders can last for up to 2 days in the refrigerator. Simply cover the pan of leftovers until you’re ready to reheat. You can also transfer to an airtight container.
To reheat, place sliders in baking pan in the oven while it preheats to 350°F. Remove from the oven when the sliders are warmed throughout.
Can You Use Less Butter?
The original recipe calls for 1/2 cup melted butter for the sauce that we pour on top of the sliders. This soaks into the bread and adds a ton of flavor! It might seem like a lot, but it is just the right amount for all of the bread.
However, since I originally published this recipe, I have had readers email me and let me know that they cut the amount of butter in half and used 1/4 cup instead.
Can You Make This Recipe Ahead of Time?
Yes, you can definitely prep this recipe so you can prepare it faster at party time. You can layer the bread, meat, and cheese in the pan and keep refrigerated. I would wait to add the pineapples and butter sauce until you’re ready to bake, so the bread doesn’t get soggy.
