Ingredients
1packageregular Oreos
1bagGhiradelli white chocolate melting wafers
1tsppeppermint extract
green cookie icing
brown cookie icing
red cookie icing
yellow star sprinkles
Instructions
Prepare the chocolate:
Line a cookie sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
Use a double boiler to melt the white chocolate wafers. (You can also melt in a microwave-safe bowl). Stir regularly.
Once the white chocolate is melted, mix in the peppermint extract. Remove from heat.
Dip each Oreo cookie in the melted white chocolate and flip to coat completely. If you're handy with chopsticks, they work great for this step! You can also use a fork.
Allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl before placing each cookie on the silicon mat to dry.
Repeat until each cookie is coated in white chocolate. Allow to dry completely before decorating.
To decorate:
Use decorating icing to pipe lines to draw Christmas designs on top of the cookies.
You can also use melting chocolate in the same colors (as opposed to writing icing).
Allow cookies and decorations to fully set before serving.
