The Best Healthy Meatloaf

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground sweet Italian sausage
  • 1 pear peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes chopped
  • 1/2 cup rice "bread" crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 TB garlic powder
  • 1 TB onion powder


  1. Add all ingredients except the pear to a large mixing bowl. Work together by hand until well combined.
  2. Place mixture in a greased bread loaf pan. Lay pear slices on top.
  3. Bake for 1 hr - 1 hr 15 minutes at 350°F ; Broil for an additional 7 minutes or until loaf is golden brown on top.
  4. Accompany with balsamic reduction (instructions in post)
