Instructions
Remove any tags from the flower pots and apply a base coat of light brown acrylic craft paint. Paint a base coat of DARK brown paint on the rim of the flower pot and covering the entire saucer. Allow to dry and add a second coat of base coat to the pot and saucer if needed.
Using a detail paintbrush, paint an “X” pattern around the rim of the clay pot with light brown acrylic craft paint. Place the saucer on top of the flowerpot like a lid and continue the cross-hatching pattern.
Glue a wooden stem to the top of the saucer/lid and tie a bow around it with natural jute twine.
Make a face on the acorn by gluing two wiggle eyes to the front of the flower pot. You can make cheeks by dipping a round pencil eraser in pink paint and dotting on either side of the face.
Use a black permanent marker or black paint to draw the mouth.
Notes
Notes: For younger kids, you can use plastic pots instead of clay or terra cotta. You can also use craft glue instead of hot glue.
