Cream Cheese - It will be easier to mix if your cream cheese is already softened, so plan ahead a little bit. Leaving the cream cheese out on the counter for 30 minutes to 1 hour should be plenty of time.
Storage - Because it includes dairy ingredients like whipping cream and cream cheese, you'll want to keep your Christmas cookie dip refrigerated until you're ready to serve. It also tastes fabulous chilled! Any leftovers should be covered or placed in an airtight container and back in the refrigerator. Generally, dips like this can stay good in the fridge for a few days. It kind of depends on the condition of the leftovers. If it was something you served after dinner and portioned out with a spoon, keeping the leftovers should be fine. If it was left out on a table at a party and kids were double-dipping in it, you might want to just toss anything that's left.
