25+ Olympics Activities for Kids to Celebrate the Winter Games

My girls are having a blast cheering on Team USA competing in PyeongChang this month! We don’t usually watch television during dinner time, but we’ve made an exception for a couple weeks because that’s when many of their favorite events air live.

If your kids are also huge fans, then you’ll love this list of Olympics activities for kids from some of my favorite family bloggers. From crafts, to games, to printables, there’s so much to do and so many ways to cheer on your favorite athletes!

DairyPure invited our family to share how we personally cheer on Team USA and spread the word about the amazing contest they’re holding during the 2018 winter games.

Keep reading to find out how you and your family can enter to win a trip for four to the 2020 Games in Tokyo!

Olympics Activities for Kids to Get Them Moving

Winter Olympics Yoga (full routine on Kids Yoga Stories) — I bookmarked this kids yoga sequence to try with my girls this week. They love yoga already, and these poses are modified based on some of the most popular events from the winter games, like the Warrior 2 pose inspired by Snowboarding.

Toddler Winter Games Activities (see them all on Busy Toddler) — I love this collection of easy-set-up activities designed just for toddlers and preschoolers, like Stuffed Animal Bobsledding.

Figure Skating with Color Cards — My girls especially love figure skating — the team event, men’s, pair’s, ice dancing, and women’s — they delight in all of it! Every single day they re-enact their favorite routines while my husband and I judge with colored construction paper. Just like on the big screen, we give each of their moves green, yellow, or red marks.

Sometimes the girls “fall” on purpose just to get a red card — then they can stage a big comeback with a fancy “green” move to win a medal! This figure skating game has been a great way to get indoor exercise during our recent spell of rainy weather.

Afterwards, we re-fuel with an ice-cold glass of DairyPure milk. We especially love their lactose-free variety, as both my youngest daughter and I are lactose intolerant. We can enjoy the same great taste and benefits (like bone-strengthening calcium) without any tummy trouble!

I also love knowing that DairyPure contains no artificial growth hormones and is the only milk backed by a Five Point Purity Promise. DairyPure is available in grocery stores nationwide.

Olympic Rings Beaded Stretch Bracelets (full tutorial on Thrifty Jinxy) — I love this Olympic-themed craft because it is so easy to make and requires only simple supplies. Wear them separately or stack all the colors!

Little People Ski Ramp (instructions on Toddler Approved) — Build a simple ski ramp with cardboard for your kids’ favorite mini figurines to navigate. I think my girls would want to leave this up year round!
