Soccer Mom Favorite: Baby Sleep Product
Annabelle recently celebrated her first birthday, so I thought that I would do a series on some of my favorite items that got us through this year. These are the things that I discovered through trial and error, but hopefully by sharing them, other parents won’t have to do the same!
This post is dedicated to my favorite baby sleep product, which is hands-down the Zipadee-Zip Slumber Sack by Sleeping Baby. It’s been nearly six months since I first wrote about the Zipadee-Zip. It was a completely unsponsored review — the “Zippy,” as we affectionately call it, was such a lifesaver for us during (and after) the swaddle transition that I thought every new parent should know!
Even though she is now entering the toddler stage, Annabelle still wears her Zippy every night and for every nap. She knows that it means “night-night” time and she goes right to sleep.
What makes the Zipadee-Zip so amazing?
- They’re super easy to use! Just lay your baby on the open Zipadee-Zip, tuck their arms and legs into the points of the “starfish” (another nickname we gave it), and zip!
- They fit babies of all shapes and sizes! We never could use traditional one-piece footed PJs with Annabelle– she had chubby thighs so they wouldn’t fasten. The Zipadee-Zip is roomy enough for any baby and has three sizes so even as your baby grows, there will be a Zippy that fits.
- They’re durable! Slobber and spit up come with the territory, so baby clothes need to be cleaned often. We’ve tossed our Zippys in the washing machine over and over and over and they’re still in great shape.

We loved the transition from the swaddle to the zippy. We now mainly use the zippy to prevent him from scratching himself at night. As we head to the beach next month, we will use it then to help prevent any sun burns!
That was one of my favorite things about the Zipadee-Zip– that she couldn’t scratch (and wake) herself!
I LOVE our zippy! My son has the “Hoo’s in Blues” and is ready to move up to a medium. He went from being tightly swaddled to being a bit more free in his zippy… and there was no turning back!
There’s definitely no turning back after Zippy! 🙂

I love our zippys! naptime and bedtime would not be the same without them!! My son loved to be swaddled but we found it irritated his skin and gave him a heat rash from all the movement trying to break free, but the zippy was a great solution. It is so easy tp put on, a comfortable weight for sleeping in year round and he looks adorable while wearing it. What is not to love??

I am really hoping to try a Zippie for my 17mo old who WILL NOT sleep at night, but the website is always out of larges in every style. I really love the Under the Sea and the Dino Parade.
Make sure you sign up for their email list– they always send out advance notice when they’re getting new larges in stock so you’ll be able to snag one! Funny thing is when I first found Zipadee-Zips, it was always the smalls/mediums that sold out– I suppose those babies have grown up now which is why the larges are in high demand 🙂
