“Rainbow Dash” Easy No Sew Fleece Scarf

My youngest daughter is in a “My Little Pony” phase where it is all things MLP, all the time. Her favorite pony is Rainbow Dash, in fact, that is who she dressed up as for Halloween this year. (Cuteness overload!!)

This rainbow knotted fleece scarf turned out to be even prettier than I could have imagined, and it is SUPER EASY to make!

You only need fleece and scissors – new sewing required!

We used rainbow fleece to match all of my daughter’s Rainbow Dash gear, but you can actually use any colors you like. I think my next project will be to grab school colors to make scarves that rep our favorite football team!

Homemade fleece scarf instructions

How to Make an Easy Rainbow Knotted Fleece Scarf

Start by cutting a 2” wide piece of fleece (any color) and measure it to the length of your wingspan (arms spread) and carefully cut. (So you’ll end up with a piece of fleece that is about 2 inches wide and 4 feet in length).

Cut about 12 pieces of each color fleece into smaller pieces that measure 7 1/2” x 2 1/4” each.

Tie knots onto each end of your long piece of fleece. Starting just below the top knot, tie one of your smaller pieces onto the long piece, with a knot to secure in the middle. Do not leave any space between the knots.

  1. Hi you are more craftier than you think! I would like to make these for adults so wondering if I need strips longer than 2 inches? Of course the wing span will be longer as well. Thanks for your help
