Christmas Present Pop-Up Card (with Video)
Inside: How to make this super-easy cute Christmas Present Pop-Up Card, with a free printable template.
Christmas Present Photo Pop-Up Card
You could say that I’m a little obsessed with pop-up cards…
There’s nothing cuter than getting a card made by your kid, with their photo inside! I guarantee that family and friends will love it too!
We’ve started making pop-up cards for every occasion, like our Father’s Day baseball card. Fall is full of our favorite holidays, and this pop-up photo pumpkin card could be used for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or just to say “I love you!”
Paper crafts are one of our favorite types of crafts because they are easy and only require simple, inexpensive supplies. (It doesn’t get more basic than paper!)
You may already have the supplies needed for our Christmas Present Pop-Up Card on hand, but just in case, I’ve included a full supply list below. There’s also a video tutorial too!

Christmas Present Pop-Up Card Directions
First, download and print the free card pattern available here.
Cut out the printable pattern. Trace the pieces labeled “BOX” and “TAB” onto green card stock. Trace the pieces labeled “LID” and “RIBBON” onto red card stock. Cut out all of your card pieces.
Glue the pieces labeled “RIBBON” across the front of the piece labeled “BOX” so that they form a cross or plus-sign shape.
Glue the left and right side of the piece labeled “TAB” to the back of your “BOX,” so that the top of the tab is even with the top of the box. You only want to glue the outer edges of the tab so that your pop-up photo is able to slide between the tab and the box.
Glue a photograph of your child to the jumbo wooden craft stick, leaving about 1″ space at the top. Trim your photo so it is smaller in width than your box.
Glue the piece labeled “LID” to the top of your craft stick, just overlapping the top of the photo.
Slide your craft stick with photograph between the back of the present and the tab, so that the lid rests on top of the box. Trim your photo if necessary to ensure that it fits.
Attach your 3D bow to the top of your lid. You may need a stronger glue for this step – we used a glue gun.
Feel free to decorate the front of your Christmas Gift Pop-Up Card with holiday greetings or glitter, stickers, etc. Have fun and make it your own!
