It can intimidating to attempt to recreate your favorite restaurant dishes at home, but the true beauty of Thai food is its simplicity: you CAN cook authentic Thai food in your own kitchen! I’ve compiled our five favorite authentic Thai food recipes here, and added a NEW one: Pan-Seared Salmon with Mateo’s “secret” Thai sauce that tastes incredible on just about anything!

Forget plain old rice! Thai-style Coconut Rice takes a simple side dish to a whole new level. How can rice be fluffy and creamy at the same time? I don’t know, but somehow this recipe makes it possible (plus it’s unbelievably easy!)
I tasted Yum Woon Sen for the first time a few months ago and I was instantly hooked! This glass noodle salad is light and delicious and can be served as an appetizer or main course.
- 1 lb Salmon, cut into filets
- 1/4 cup fish sauce
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Pan-sear salmon with this foolproof method
- While salmon is cooking, combine fish sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar in a small mixing bowl. Whisk until well combined. You can make more or less as you please: simply combine the three ingredients in equal parts.
