August is Health Awareness Month, so I wanted to take this opportunity to share one of my most-loved healthy living products: coconut oil. There are so many healthy uses for coconut oil — I’m sharing some of my personal favorite “secrets” to look and feel better with this simple grocery store item!
Since we go through so much coconut oil, I want to get the best deal possible and Sam’s Club is perfect for stocking up on must-have healthy living essentials! They’re also offering free health screenings on September 12th — you can locate the nearest location here.
Swap Coconut Oil for your usual cooking oil for added nutrition
Coconut Oil is packed with vitamins and minerals — it’s not called a “superfood” for no reason! It’s versatile in the kitchen and can be used for many types of cooking styles, plus it adds a subtle boost of flavor to your recipe. It’s our go-to cooking oil!
Add Coconut Oil to your coffee for an energy boost
I’ve gotten into the habit of whisking a spoonful of coconut oil to my daily cup of coffee — not only is it delicious (you’ve seriously got to try it!), but it gives me that extra boost I need to get through my busy day. Coconut Oil is full of B Vitamins which are a sought-after natural source of energy.
Use Coconut Oil to Soothe and Moisturize Sensitive Skin
Pregnancy and postpartum hormones made my skin super sensitive and all of the lotions I used previously now cause my skin to be itchy and irritated. My oldest daughter has mild eczema and also must be very careful about what she puts on her skin. Coconut oil has been a lifesaver for both of us! It applies smoothly and melts into your skin. Since it’s all-natural, it doesn’t irritate our skin. Bonus: it smells amazing!!
Get that Perfect Manicure and Pedicure with Coconut Oil
Coconut oil works wonders as a cuticle cream! It also gets rid of rough, dry skin on feet. With regular use, you’re feet will be softer than ever! I workout every day and sneakers are hard on my feet, but coconut oil has truly rescued them! Tip: Immediately after applying, cover feet with warm socks from the dryer. The heat locks in moisture and feels amazing on tired tootsies!
Get Smooth Legs with Coconut Oil “Shaving Cream”
Forget soap and water! Coconut oil makes an excellent shaving “cream,” because it moisturizes as you shave. Just be sure to rinse your hands before handling a razor.
