Peeps Playdough Recipe
Make super soft, super stretchy, taste-safe Easter-themed playdough with Peeps marshmallows!

Peeps Easter Playdough
The kids and I made marshmallow playdough a while back and it was so much fun! The texture is extra stretchy and really unique. I wondered if Peeps marshmallows would have the same effect, so we had to give it a try!
Our Peeps playdough is indeed very soft and stretchy! I also love the pastel colors that the Peeps provide, without any added food coloring. Perfect for Easter or spring!
My girls spent an entire afternoon playing with their homemade Easter playdough! It was definitely a hit! And a good thing too because they didn’t actually like the taste of the Peeps, so this made sure that the variety pack I bought to try didn’t go to waste!

For your convenience in making this craft, I’ve added shop-able ad links where possible. Read our disclosure policy here.
- 4 Bunny Peeps Marshmallows
- 2 TB Coconut Oil
- 3-4 TB Cornstarch
Kitchen Tools Used
- Microwave-safe bowl
- Measuring spoons
- Silicone Play Mats for Kids (We love these mats for easy clean-up! They contain the mess and wash easily with soap and water.)
Instructions
- Place the Peeps in a microwave-safe bowl with the coconut oil.
- Microwave for 15-20 seconds, just enough to melt the Peeps.
- Stir to combine the melted Peeps and oil.
- Add 3 TB cornstarch and stir. When the playdough is cool enough to touch, finish kneading by hand.

Prep Tips
- Safety – While this Peeps playdough is taste-safe, it is not intended to be consumed as a food item. Always supervise young children when using playdough or slime.
- Yield – The above ingredients make one batch of playdough, or about one cup. We made four batches, so we would have one of each of the colors of Peeps.
- If Playdough Is Sticky – Once the playdough is cool enough to handle, you can work in more cornstarch as needed to make it not sticky/oily. It will still be pretty stretchy like slime, but it should be able to keep its shape like playdough.
- If Playdough Dries Out – As you’re playing with the dough, it may start to become a little drier or less stretchy. Simply put the playdough in a microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave for 5-10 seconds to soften it again. (Caution, the dough may be hot at first, so handle with care!)
