Closet Staple: Ruffled Blouse (Worn 3 Ways)

"Soccer Mom Style" and Fashion Tips for Moms

I’m so excited to partner up with Tahari ASL to show you how to find a “closet staple” and build multiple looks around that go-to item.

My number one style philosophy is high-low mixing. I love a good bargain, but I will occasionally splurge on a quality item that I know will become a wardrobe staple. The key is finding something that is timeless vs. trendy. A timeless piece will give you years of use and pair with almost anything in your closet (so you more than get your money’s worth!)

Tahari ASL is known for their classically styled separates (and gorgeous dresses), so it was easy to find something that I could style in a variety of ways. I chose this Crinkled Ruffle-Trim Print Blouse in Ivory Mint because as soon as I saw it, my mind was already racing with tons of ideas for how I could wear it!

Tucked into slim khaki capris with a bold clutch

This is my absolute favorite look, and one that could just as easily be worn to the office as lunch with the girls. It’s a look that’s both dressy and casual at the same time, and incredibly comfy! (I’ll readily admit that comfort will make-or-break and outfit for me!)

Equestrian-esque power suit

I’ve grown up around horses, and am fortunate to count a Saddlebred named Goldie as a member of our family. Though we are retired from the show ring, I still think that the equestrian look is undeniably classy. This is my spin on the riding look: ruffled blouse, tan pants, and a dark blazer. The best part is that this is an outfit for all seasons: pair with pumps in spring/summer and tall boots for fall/winter.

Casual with jeans and slip-ons

I love this ruffled blouse so much that I didn’t want to save it just for special occasions. On any given day, you can find me in jeans and flats, but swapping out a t-shirt for this ruffled blouse adds a bit of polish — and it is still super comfortable!

The Crinkled Ruffle-Trim Print Blouse from Tahari ASL is available in multiple colors/patterns. (I chose green because it’s my favorite color). They have an amazing selection of tops in the separates collection that would all be perfect for making your own closet staple!
