Black Cherry Martini Recipe

The first time I saw this Sparkling Black Cherry Martini made, I immediately had visions of the sophisticated, yet over-the-top glamour of the infamous “Roaring Twenties.”

(Quick history lesson: The martini rose to popularity in the early 20th century and likely maintained status during Prohibition, albeit discretely).

This simple, 3-ingredient cocktail recipe is perfect for festive entertaining — think New Years Eve or a Great Gatsby themed party. Or go the opposite route for a romantic Valentine’s dinner for two, as the deep red cherries are just the right color!

Bonus — the frozen black cherries not only look gorgeous, they keep your drink chilled too!

Sparkling Black Cherry Martini Ingredients:

  • 4 oz sparkling water or soda water
  • 1 oz Black Cherry Vodka
  • Frozen cherries (for “ice” cubes)

Bartender Essentials:

For your convenience in re-creating this Black Cherry Martini, I’ve included shop-able ad links to some of the products used. Read our disclosure policy here.

  • Stainless steel 2-piece cocktail shaker  (This is the style I learned to bartend with and still prefer)
  • Cocktail strainer
  • Martini Glasses (I love the stemless kind because I’m WAY less likely to spill or break them…both of which I am notorious for doing!)

Gorgeous and sophisticated, this Sparkling Black Cherry Martini cocktail recipe is perfect for New Years, Valentine's, or a Great Gatsby themed party.

Directions:

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake black cherry vodka until chilled and strain into a martini glass.

Top glass with sparkling water and drop in a few frozen cherries. Not only do the cherries add a gorgeous touch, but they will keep your drink cool too!

TIP: For a more intense pop of flavor, substitute a cherry flavored soda water, like Dasani Black Cherry Sparkling Water.
