Instructions
To prepare this drink you’ll be making each color/flavor separately, for three different slushy drink mixtures in total. To do so, add all of the ingredients for one layer to the blender and blend until you have a smooth slushy consistency.
After you make each color, pour the frozen mixtures into pitchers or container that you can keep in the freezer while you make the rest of the mixtures. Rinse out the blender between each batch.
See instructions for layering the drinks below.
Layering the Drink:
- Scoop the light pink mixture into the bottom of the glasses, about 1″ deep.
- Scoop the hot pink mixture on top of the bottom layer, until the glasses are about 1/3 of the way full.
- Use the rest of the light pink mixture to make another layer on top of the hot pink layer.
- Scoop the red mixture on top, filling the glasses.
- Top with a dollop of whipped cream and fresh strawberries.
Prep Tips
- For Perfect Layers: Gently tap the glass on the countertop after you add each layer of frozen drink mixture. This will allow the air bubbles to work their way out and create more even layering. Be sure not to hit the glass too hard on the counter!
- Substitutions: Kinky Liqueur is an infused vodka made with a variety of fruit flavors. It is also a bright pink in color, which makes it perfect for our Barbie cocktail. If you can’t find this particular product, a good substation is “X-RATED” which is a similar pink infused vodka liqueur. You could also try Código 1530 Rosa Tequila, which is a light pink tequila and would make this drink have more of a strawberry margarita flavor.
- Frozen Drink Base: Monin Frozen Drink base is a flavorless liquid that you add to the blender with your frozen drinks to make them blend smoothly and hold together longer without separating ice from liquid. If you don’t have this on hand, that’s totally ok! You may want to add a bit more liquid to your cocktail in its place for the right slushy consistency.
