Breakfast Pizza

With school in full swing and the holidays rapidly approaching, sometimes it can seem like all we do is “go, go, go!” However busy we may be during the week, Sunday is “family day,” where we relax, enjoy time together as a family, and eat!

Most Sundays, my husband Matt will treat us to a home-cooked brunch — it’s one of his favorite meals to prepare. One of his the recipes that holds sentimental value for him is Breakfast Pizza, which he learned from his stepfather.

Breakfast plus pizza — both are craveable in their own right. Put them together and the result is just what you would expect: magical! Even better, this recipe is super easy to make and is loaded with veggies (each serving of Ragú® Pasta Sauce provides a full serving of vegetables.)

Here’s what you need to Make Breakfast Pizza:

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup Ragú® Pasta Sauce
  • Bell pepper, sliced
  • Red onion, thinly sliced
  • Sliced Ham
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning

(These are our favorite ingredients, but once you have the basic pizza made with eggs and Ragú® Pasta Sauce you can top with whatever you have on hand. It’s fully customizable and perfect for the end of the week when you need to clean out the fridge!)

STEP ONE: Whisk eggs in a bowl with Italian seasoning.

STEP TWO: Pour eggs into a small, nonstick skillet on medium-low heat. Cook covered for 8 minutes.

STEP THREE: Remove from heat and spread Ragú® Pasta Sauce evenly on surface.

STEP FOUR: Cover pizza with remaining ingredients — as much you like!

We’ve been a fan of Ragú® Old World Style Pasta Sauce for as long as I can remember (it’s a staple on our weekly grocery list). On a recent trip to Kroger I noticed a new variety:Sautéed Onion and Garlic so I had to try it — yum! You can use any Ragú® Pasta Sauce your prefer for this recipe.

Our Sunday family day is my favorite day of the week and I treasure these moments with my husband and the girls. Having easy (but delicious) meals in our rotation allows us to spend less time cooking (or in my case, cleaning) and more time enjoying each other’s company.

Be sure to check out even more delicious meal ideas from Ragú® Pasta Sauce! Do you have a go-to family recipe? I’d love to hear about it!
