Directions

In a small pot, combine the butter, syrup, vanilla and cacao powder. Warm over very low heat, whisking frequently until all ingredients are melted and evenly combined.

Reduce heat to lowest setting to keep warm.

Line a large baking sheet or cutting board with parchment paper or a non-stick silicon baking mat (we love ours and use them all the time!)

In small groups, dip the pretzels into the chocolate mixture and lay on the parchment paper.

After each group, sprinkle 1/8 cup of the almonds on top of the pretzels.

Turn the heat off for the chocolate.

Place pretzels in the fridge to set for thirty minutes.

Re-warm the chocolate mixture on low. Prepare another piece of parchment paper and place the remaining almonds on a plate.

Very carefully, re-dip the pretzels into the chocolate mixture. This time, press each pretzel into the chopped almonds on one side only. Lay to set on the parchment paper.

Repeat for all the pretzels, then place in the freezer to set fully for thirty minutes.

Makes 14-17 pretzels.

Note: You may have some chocolate left over depending on how well you dip. Feel free to make a few more pretzels or throw in some almonds to make chocolate-covered almond treats.
