Guinness & Honey Glazed Chicken Tenders

St. Patrick’s Day has become synonymous with two things: food and beer. So we combined the two!

This year I’m expecting, so I can’t indulge in a traditional frothy glass of Guinness for the occasion. However, this honey stout glazed chicken lets me get a taste of that rich Guinness flavor (without the alcohol of course!)

My husband is the chef in our family, but this recipe is so easy that even amateur cooks (like me) can whip it up in less than 30 minutes.

Guinness Honey Glazed Chicken Ingredients

  • 1-2 pounds chicken tenderloins, grilled
  • 4 Tablespoons honey
  • 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups Irish stout beer, like Guinness
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 bulb garlic, diced and fried

How to make Easy Honey Stout Glazed Chicken

Prepare chicken tenderloinsย โ€” you can grill them fresh or use pre-cooked chicken to save time.

To make the Honey Stout Glaze:

Set aside 1/2 cup Guinness in a small mixing bowl.

Combine honey, brown sugar, and remaining 2 cups beer in a saucepan over medium heat. Allow to simmer for 15 minutes.

How to make a Guinness glaze

While sauce on stove reduces, add cornstarch to the 1/2 cup of stout you have set aside in mixing bowl. Whisk until fully combined.

Add your cornstarch mixture to saucepan and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow to thicken.

Coat grilled chicken tendersย with glaze โ€” I keep the glaze light because I love to see the gorgeous grill marks on my chicken. Feel free to serve extra glaze on the side for dipping!

Finish with crispy fried garlic for an extra kick.
