Crispy beer skillet potatoes take a classic side dish to the next level of flavor!
Beer Skillet Potatoes with Fire Grilled Chicken
My husband is famous for his skillet potatoes — they are one of his most requested dishes for breakfast, brunch, dinner, and even to tuck inside tacos!
With St. Patrick’s Day this weekend, he decided to get a little adventurous, adding a hint of rich, frothy Guinness stout to his crispy fried potatoes.
I didn’t think the original skillet potatoes recipe could get any better, but WOW! I could barely keep visiting family out of the pan long enough to take photos. (I’ll admit I snuck a few tastes myself!)
The verdict: an instant hit!
We paired our beer skillet potatoes with Cooked Perfect® Fire Grilled Chicken for a meal that is worthy of celebration.

How to make Guinness Fried Potatoes with Fire Grilled Chicken Tenders
Peel and chop two large Russet potatoes — we used pieces that were about one inch wide and 1/4 inch thick so they’ll crisp up quickly.
Prepare a greased cast iron skillet over medium heat (we used a combination of butter and vegetable oil).
Add potatoes to greased skillet and cook for about 5 minutes to start to crisp.
Once potatoes start to brown, turn to cook the other side. Add Guinness, garlic powder, and brown sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, until liquid reduces completely.
TIP: While potatoes cook, prepare one package of Cooked Perfect Fire Grilled Tenders according to directions on back of bag. We love Cooked Perfect Fire Grilled Chicken because it is easy to prepare in the oven or microwave, saving a lot of time and trouble when you’re planning a holiday get-together!
Remove potatoes from heat and top with warm Cooked Perfect Fire Grilled Tenders. Sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish.
