Experience History with the LEGO Americana Roadshow
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Baybrook Mall, your GGP shopping destination. for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
Coming soon to a mall near you! The LEGO® Americana Roadshow is a traveling exhibit of historic American landmarks. It’s hours of family-friendly fun..and it’s FREE!
The LEGO® Americana Roadshow just rolled into Friendswood, Texas at the Baybrook Mall and will be here from July 30th-August 14th. (The exhibits will tour nine GGP malls in all).
I grew up in West Virginia, where it is only a few hours drive to our nation’s capital. I was lucky to see many of our most treasured monuments firsthand.
However, Texas is a LOT further from Washington, DC! That’s why we were so excited to have the opportunity to see replicas of many of the most important historical buildings without having to travel. Even cooler…they’re made of LEGOs!

What is the LEGO Americana Roadshow?
The LEGO Americana Roadshow features 10 incredibly detailed re-creations of United States landmarks including the White House, Statue of Liberty, and Washington Monument.
They are almost as impressive as the real thing! The United States Capitol took 1700 man-hours to build and is transported in four sections filling an entire semi-truck!
Just look how tall the Washington Monument is! My daughter seems tiny next to it:
The exhibits are spread throughout the mall, and there is a scavenger hunt where kids can learn fun facts about each of the landmarks. My oldest daughter loves reading maps and delighted in finding the next stop on our tour.
After we had seen all of the monuments (plus a couple surprise bonus exhibits), we headed over to the Interactive Play Area for even more fun. There are tables loaded with both LEGO and DUPLO blocks and ramps to race LEGO cars (this was definitely a fan favorite)!
August 6-7 is Make-and-Take weekend at Baybrook Mall, where kids get an exclusive mini-monument kit. (While supplies last). Each stop on the tour has its own special Make-and-Take. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, so you’ll have to stop by to see which monument your city offers!
We spent over an hour in the Interactive Play Area and both girls had a blast! They probably would have stayed all afternoon, except we started to get hungry.
Fortunately, the Baybrook Mall has tons of options for food and entertainment. We’ll definitely have to make a return trip to check out some of the new additions, like Dave & Busters!
