These Chocolate-Covered Soccer Oreos are the cutest!! They are the perfect treat for after practice, a soccer birthday party, or in a Soccer-themed lunch box.
Jennifer at Sugar Spice & Glitter shares this fun and festive dessert:
We recently made these Soccer ball-style Oreos for our end-of-season Simple & Easy Soccer party. They are a quick and easy treat that makes a big statement and would also make a great grab-bag item.
They are also a great homemade gift for the soccer fan in your life – just like how we made these Chocolate-covered Golf Ball Oreos for my stepdad’s Father’s Day gift. I love that they are so simple that the kids can make them without too much help.
We decided to dip half of the Oreos in white chocolate and simply top the others with the decorative candy. We also used white to keep things simple, but a green candy melt would be cool and look like the green of the soccer field!
You can use this technique to make just about any themed Oreo that you can think of – it’s a great simple treat to have in your party planning repertoire.
How to Make Chocolate Covered Soccer Oreos
- 12+ Oreos
- 1 cup Wilton bright white candy melts or white chocolate chips
- 1 package soccer cake candies
- 2 Tablespoons shortening
- 1 microwave-safe bowl
- 1 spoon
- 1 fork or dipping tool
- 1 cookie sheet lined with parchment or silicone baking mat
STEP ONE: Place the candy melts and shortening in the microwave-safe bowl and heat for 20 seconds. Stir well and reheat, continuing to heat and stir until the candy melts are smooth and no lumps remain.
STEP TWO: Using the fork, dip the Oreo into the white chocolate coating and then flip to coat the other side. Hold the Oreo above the bowl to allow excess chocolate to stream off before placing on the lined baking sheets.
STEP THREE: While the chocolate or candy coating is still wet, place the soccer candy in the center of the Oreo. Repeat with half of the remaining Oreos. Set in the fridge for 1 hour to fully dry.
STEP FOUR: With the Oreos that you are leaving plain, just dab a bit of chocolate to the back of the candies to attach them to the Oreos.
