Ham and cheese sliders are classic. But sometimes it’s fun to switch things up!

One of our favorite fall recipes is hearty pork & baked apples, so we did that in a slider version. The result is a perfect pairing of tart apple and sharp cheddar, rounded out with buttery ham and sweet Hawaiian buns. Top it all off with a tangy Dijon marinade and you’ve got a sandwich like none other!

Easy Ham, Apple, & Cheddar Sliders Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb sliced ham
  • 1 apple
  • 1-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package Hawaiian slider buns
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Note: The ingredient list above is for one batch, but these were double-stuffed. To make a second batch, simply grab another set of buns and spread out all the ingredients listed.

How to Make Baked Ham, Apple, & Cheddar Sliders:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Slice your slider buns in half through the middle (not top to bottom) making two “sheets” (top and bottom).

Place the bottom layer of the sliders in a casserole dish.

Arrange two layers of honey ham on the buns – approximately half a 1lb package of honey ham.

Using a mandolin, thinly slice your apple and place the slices overtop of the ham.

Sprinkle generously with as much shredded cheddar cheese as you desire.

Place the top of the buns over the cheese.

To make your dijon marinade:

Combine two sticks of butter, 1 Tablespoon dijon mustard and 1/2 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce in a saucepan.

Cook over medium heat, whisking occasionally, until the butter just begins to brown.

Remove from heat and pour all over the sliders.

Cover the casserole dish with tinfoil and bake for 15-20 minutes, until all butter is absorbed.

Time-saving tip: you can prepare the sandwiches – even pouring the melted butter overtop – the night before and just bake up just before ready to serve.

These sliders are the perfect breakfast to feed a crowd - buttery, sweet and oh so delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb sliced ham
  • 1 apple

    These days I always like to have a nice big salad in case of any of my guests or vegetarian or vegan or something like that. I also try to do minimal ingredients because allergies can be another problem that you don’t want to be responsible for!

    I think gamedays are all about different types of dips, maybe a sandwich (hot sausage or meatball) or chili and a nice big salad! Of course you also gotta add in a fried item like fried pickles or fried chicken wings!
