Prep Tips

  • Popcorn – We used plain popcorn for this recipe. You can pop your own or buy it in a bag, already popped. If you want to try a flavored popcorn, white chocolate popcorn would be a good bet.
  • Candy Melts – If you don’t have candy melts, you can instead use white melting chocolate and stir in pink food coloring and red food coloring. If using white chocolate chips (versus almond bark or melting wafers) you may want to add a Tablespoon of coconut oil or shortening so it melts more smoothly. Then you can stir the food coloring into the melted white chocolate.
  • Mix-Ins – We used heart sprinkles and Valentine M&Ms, but you can use any kind of Valentine’s Day candy that you like for this recipe.
  • Storage – Keep your Valentine popcorn in an airtight container, such as a food storage container or gallon size freezer bag, for up to 5 days. It does not need to be refrigerated; room temperature is fine as long as it is kept away from any sources of heat or light.
