Mini BLT Sliders

Sliders and BLTs are two of my favorite types of sandwiches, so why not combine the two? These BLT sliders feature all of the delicious flavors of the classic bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich, in one portable hand-held bite!

Here’s the breakdown: crispy lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and savory bacon, all layered between perfectly toasted slider buns for an unforgettable bite.

This easy appetizer comes together in about 30 minutes or less, with minimal prep time. They’re great for those parties where you don’t want to serve a full sit-down dinner, but you still want your guests to eat something of substance. They’re also a great addition to any tailgate or game day spread! And of course, they are downright delicious!

Sliders are one of my favorite appetizers because they are easy to prepare, serve a big group all at once, and are always a crowd pleaser! My kids love them too!

And of course, this recipe isn’t limited to just being an appetizer. Sliders also make a fantastic weeknight dinner because it’s only a few minutes of cook time (especially if you start with pre-cooked bacon) and it is enough to feed the whole family.

Instructions

To Prep: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  1. Slice the sliders horizontally into two “sheets” of bread: the bottoms of the bun and the tops of the buns. Place the buns on a baking sheet and bake in the oven just long enough to toast the surface of the bread, or about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Remove buns from the oven and place on a clean work space. Spread about 1 Tablespoon of mayo to the underside of each bun.
  3. Place one slice of tomato on each bottom bun.ย Add two slices of cooked bacon on top of each of the tomatoes, side-by-side.ย Scatter the shredded lettuce on top.
  4. Carefully place the sheet of the top buns on top of the bottom buns. For an optional garnish, use a toothpick to secure one cherry tomato and a piece of kale to the top of each sandwich. Separate the sandwiches before serving.

Prep Tips:

  • Storage – Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. I do not suggest freezing as this can negatively affect the texture of the fresh veggies.
  • Bacon –ย Thick cut bacon is what we used because it creates fantastic bacon flavor with just a couple slices, for a less messy sandwich. However, you can use your favorite type of bacon. These sliders would also taste fantastic when made with Candied Bacon (check out my easy recipe!)
Lettuce – While iceberg is traditionally used for BLTs, any type of crisp lettuce will work. I love green leaf lettuce or kale for extra color and flavor.
  • Variations – Try a BLTA – bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado – by adding sliced avocado or guacamole to your sliders. Ranch dressing also makes a tasty addition or dipping sauce to serve on the side.
