Conversation Heart Votives for Valentine’s Day

These conversation heart votives are not only adorable, they’re useful too!

I absolutely love kid-made holiday gifts, though sometimes they aren’t things that you can do much with besides display. However, candles are both pretty and practical!

I may just have a minor obsession with candles, so I would totally put these out around my house during the week’s leading up to Valentine’s Day!

This is an easy gift for kids to make for family, friends, teachers, etc. and you only need simple supplies. Keep reading to see how it’s done!

Pssst- it’s also a great way to use up those extra conversation hearts that no one ever seems to eat! You’re welcome 😉

How to make easy Valentine’s Day Votive Candle Holders

Pour loose candy conversation hearts into your glass candle holders until they are about halfway full. (Glass mason jars would also look super cute!)

Tip: If using real candles, only use glass candle holders, as flame could melt plastic. (If using flameless LED tea lights, plastic is ok).

Place a candle on top of the conversation hearts, then add more candy around the sides of the candle to secure in place. Leave at least half of the candle exposed.

To decorate your conversation heart votives, tie a piece of red or brown raffia in a bow around the candle holder, about an inch from the top. Add any heart charms, crystals, stickers, etc. that you like to personalize your jars!

Safety note: Never leave a lighted candle unattended. Always supervise children around candles and open flame. Feel free to use flameless LED tea lights as a child-safe option.
