5 Reasons to Skip Delivery and Get DiGiorno Instead

Mom Hacks

The “Big Game” is one of the busiest days of the year for pizza delivery, but we’ve got 5 good reasons to skip delivery and bake your own instead! Brought to you in partnership with DiGiorno.

Super Bowl Sunday is one of the busiest days of the year for pizza delivery, but we've got 5 good reasons to skip delivery and make your own instead!

5 Reasons to Skip Delivery and Bake Your Own Pizza

My husband and I have a football game day tradition that’s been going strong for over 10 years. Instead of going out to watch the big game, we stay home and make a delicious spread of pizza and other snacks.

Some years it’s been just the two of us, while other times we’ve invited over a few of our close friends. These days it’s us and the kids…and sometimes our friends and family too!

Even though the guest list has changed a little over the years, one thing hasn’t: we always skip delivery and bake our own pizza instead.

Here’s why…

1. Baking Your Own Pizza Costs WAY Less Money than Delivery

I love that I can grab a box of DiGiorno pizza when I’m at the grocery store for just a few bucks. There’s no delivery fee, no tip, no hidden fees or extra charges.

Just delicious, cheesy pizza ready when I want it!

2. There’s No Waiting for the Delivery Driver

On a normal day, pizza delivery can take up to an hour. But Super Sunday is one of the busiest days for ordering pizza of the entire year!

In fact, one study estimates that over 12.5 million pizzas will be ordered for the big game! Now that’s a lot of pizza…AND a lot of other people waiting in line with you to get their order delivered!

When it comes to having delicious food on game day, my husband and I don’t take any chances. We pop a couple DiGiorno pizzas in the oven and we’ve got our pizza ready FAST!

3. DiGiorno Gives You MORE Cheese

When you order delivery pizza, if you want extra toppings there are extra fees. Boo!

DiGiorno Rising Crust Pizza now has MORE CHEESE – and you don’t have to worry about up-charges!

The self-rising crust bakes up perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Pair that with big, juicy toppings (we love the pepperoni) and DiGiorno’s signature sauce for the fresh-baked taste of delivery pizza right out of your oven!

4. You Get the Perfect Pizza Every Time

Have you ever ordered pizza and when it arrived you opened the box to find…

…not your pizza.

Or the pizza shifted around during the drive and it’s smushed and messy. Bleh! Who wants to pay all that money for delivery and end up with a disappointing meal?

With DiGiorno you know exactly what you’re getting and you don’t have to worry about mix-ups on the way from a restaurant to your home.

You see the pizza baking in your own oven!

I love to watch the crust rise as it bakes…and that delicious aroma…it’s all I can do to wait for the pizza to finish cooking!

5. You Don’t Have to Leave the House

When you order delivery pizza, the whole goal is to get food brought to you on the fly and to not leave the house.

However, to deal with the crush of orders on Super Bowl Sunday, many restaurants recommend placing your order at least a day in advance or coming in to pick up your order.

That kind of defeats the purpose of delivery though!

Score one more for DiGiorno! The week before the big game, we stock up so we have plenty of DiGiorno pizza on hand at home. You can never have too much pizza…trust me on this!
