I have been on a mission over the past few weeks to get my house in order before the holidays. I started by tackling paper clutter in the kitchen and home office. This week, I’ve moved on to the bathroom!
Easy & Thrifty Bathroom Organization Hacks
Yes, that was my bathroom cabinet before I did anything — piled over two feet high with toiletries, extra toilet paper, and who knows what else that you can’t even see! This was the status of the bathroom drawers (I cringe just looking at this photo now):
I suppose things had gotten this out of hand because I figured that it would take hours of work and I would have to spend a lot of money on shelving to organize properly. However that wasn’t the case at all! Everything I used for this bathroom organization project I found at Walmart for under $10!
Divide & Conquer Drawers with Plastic Baskets
I started by taking every single item out of both drawers and the cabinet. I evaluated what was old, spoiled, spilt, or never going to be used and tossed those things into a big trash bag. Be honest — if that lotion smells amazing but makes your skin itch, pitch it!
After wiping down the insides of the drawers, I placed two plastic baskets in each one (they were a perfect fit!) Each basket contains a certain group of items: first aid, dental care, travel-sized toiletries, etc. Easy! Just look at the difference:
Swivel Storage with a Lazy Susan
For the cabinet, I found this small “Lazy Susan” (in the kitchen section at Walmart), which keeps all of our extra toiletries readily accessible. It spins, so nothing gets buried in the back of the cabinet!
You can find a similar twin turntable plastic Lazy Susan on Amazon:
I’m so glad I finally got my bathroom in order — it was so much easier than I thought with these simple bathroom organization hacks! You can do this yourself in about 30 minutes and for under $10 with supplies from Walmart.

Thanks Sarah! 🙂
That’s awesome! I definitely want to try it. Do you know the exact name for the Lazy Susan product? The only one I found at Walmart was $15 and want a double one like you have in the picture.
Hi Tiffany – I just did a search and this looks like the product I got: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Rubbermaid-Lazy-Susan-Twin-Turntable-in-White/16664734 Though the price must have changed since I wrote this post a few months ago. I remember it being about $4 or so and with the baskets everything was about $10. Hope this helps!
