To make the Twix Pound Cake:
Preheat oven and coat the inside of a bundt cake pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Prepare pound cake batter according to directions on package and pour into bundt pan. Bake according to box instructions and allow to cool completely.
To make the caramel layer:
Heat 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream and caramels in a double boiler, stirring regularly until completely melted.
TIP: You can also do this step in the microwave. Be sure to use a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 20 second intervals, stirring in-between. Handle with care, as bowl may become hot.
Slowly, pour caramel mixture over the top of your pound cake, then chill in fridge for at least an hour to set.
To make the chocolate coating:
Heat 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream and chocolate chips in a double boiler, stirring regularly until completely melted.
TIP: You can also do this step in the microwave. Be sure to use a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 20 second intervals, stirring in-between. Handle with care, as bowl may become hot.
Whichever method you choose, take care not to overheat of the chocolate may “break” and you’ll have to make a new batch. (Ask me how I know…)
Remove cake from fridge and pour chocolate ganache over the top of the cake to cover completely.
Allow chocolate coating to fully set before slicing and serving
TIP: You can chill cake in fridge to speed up the setting process.
