How to Make Bacon Roses

I used my candied bacon recipe as the base, but formed the strips into roses. Since they’re rolled up, the bacon roses will need a longer cooking time than if they were cooked flat on a baking sheet.

  1. Spread the bacon strips flat on a baking sheet.
  2. Whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, and black pepper. Spread on each strip of bacon on both sides.
  3. Take each strip of bacon and roll up into a rosette shape and secure with a toothpick.
  4. Place back on the baking sheet and bake for 30-45 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Check the bacon for doneness at 30 minutes – the bacon should be crispy on the edges and cooked through in the middle.
