Pom Pom Christmas Slime

If you’re looking for activities to do during Christmas break, why not make Christmas slime?

The weather here in Texas has finally turned cold…and rainy…so we’re stuck inside more often. Slime is one of our favorite activities to pass the time!

The pom-poms in this stretchy green Christmas slime represent the bright ornaments on a Christmas tree.

We also added essential oil so it smells just like the real thing too!

It’s sparkly, stretchy, and scented! So much Christmas-y fun!!

Supply List

For your convenience in re-creating our Christmas slime recipes, I’ve included shop-able ad links to some of the products we used. Our disclosure policy is available here. Depending on which recipe option you choose, you may not need every single ingredient in this list.

How to Make Scented Christmas Tree Slime

We started with a base recipe to make contact solution slime. I like contact solution slime recipes because the ingredients are easy to find.

I like also like liquid starch slime, but liquid starch is not always available in other places, so that’s why I’ve made this Christmas slime recipe with contact lens solution instead.

There are a couple options to make this base recipe into a sparkly green Christmas slime, you can use either based on which ingredients you have on hand:

Christmas Tree Slime Recipe #1

  1. Start with our contact solution slime recipe (using white glue)
  2. Substitute clear glue in place of white school glue.
  3. Add green food coloring, green glitter, and 1-2 drops pine essential oil to the slime before you add contact lens solution.
  4. After you add the contact lens solution and your slime no longer sticks to hands, mix in your colorful mini pom-poms.

Christmas Tree Slime Recipe #2

  1. Start with our contact solution slime recipe (using glitter glue)
  2. Use green glitter glue in the recipe.
  3. Add extra green glitter (if desired) and 1-2 drops pine essential oil to the slime before you add contact lens solution.
  4. After you add the contact lens solution and your slime no longer sticks to hands, mix in your colorful mini pom-poms.

Both recipes will turn end up with a similar consistency. They might be slightly different in color because one uses food coloring and the other uses a green glitter glue. However they are both equally fabulous!
