Sheet Pan Ham Dinner
This ham sheet pan dinner does double duty — it can be a quick and low-mess weeknight dinner or a delicious holiday meal for a small group.
Honey ham is a traditional choice for Easter dinner and it is also something that our family enjoys at Thanksgiving and Christmas. But a big ‘ol honey ham is a LOT of food!
This easy sheet pan recipe recreates that special ham dinner, but in a low mess one-pan meal!
Creamy garlic butter potatoes and tender green beans accompany sweet and savory ham steaks. The ham is marinated in a delicious sauce made with honey, brown sugar, and pineapple juice. It creates an amazing coating on the ham steaks that pairs beautifully with the buttery vegetables.

- 1/2 pound Baby Potatoes
- 10 oz Fresh Green Beans
- 6 Ham Steaks
- 6 Pineapple Slices
- Kosher Salt & Black Pepper, to taste
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Minced Garlic (about 2 cloves garlic)
- 1/3 cup Melted Butter
Honey Pineapple Sauce
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Pineapple Juice
Helpful Kitchen Tools
- Large sheet pan or baking sheet
- 2 Small Mixing Bowls
Instructions
To Prep:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and coat a large baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
- Stir together melted butter and minced garlic in a small bowl.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together honey, brown sugar, and pineapple juice.
To Make Dinner
- Cut potatoes in half and place them on the sheet pan. Drizzle with half of the melted garlic butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove pan from oven and place green beans in the middle third of the pan. Drizzle with remaining garlic butter mixture.
- Dip each ham steak into the honey pineapple sauce and place onto the empty portion of the sheet pan. Place a pineapple ring on top of each steak. It’s ok if the ham slices overlap!
- Place the sheet pan back into the oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
Prep Tips
- If you don’t have non-stick spray (or prefer to use something else) you can also grease the pan with olive oil.
- Want to add a little something to your veggies? Try sprinkling them with grated Parmesan cheese or your favorite fresh herbs after baking.
- Instead of baby potatoes, you could also use Yukon Gold potatoes, cut into quarters.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can You Use A Different Type Of Vegetable?
If green beans aren’t your thing, you can swap with your favorite veggie. This may change the cooking time, so here are some tips for adjusting accordingly.
- Carrots: To add roasted carrots to the mix, you may want to pre-cook them in boiling water first, for about 3 minutes. This will help soften them so they will be tender on the inside and cook in the same time as the green beans would. If the carrots are still not as soft as you’d like, give them another 3-5 minutes.
- Zucchini: Squash makes another delicious roasted vegetable option! Cut two medium zucchini into 1/2 inch slices and place on the pan where the green beans would go. 15 minutes of cook time should be just about right.
How Long Do Leftovers Last?
The wonderful thing about this recipe is that it will feed a family of 3-4, usually with no leftovers. However, if cooking for 1 or 2 you may have enough for dinner the next day! Simply store in the fridge in an airtight container.
To reheat, I recommend placing everything back on a sheet pan. Set the oven to preheat and put the pan right in the oven. By the time the oven reaches temperature, your food should be warmed.
