Gingerbread Jello Shots

Gingerbread cookies are one of my favorite Christmas cookies! I love both the soft cake-y cookies AND the crispy gingerbread cookies that you get to decorated with icing.

But I’ll bet you’ve never had a gingerbread cookie like this before…

These are Gingerbread Cookie Jello Shots!! They taste amazing! Just imagine a creamy and spicy gingerbread latte, but with a kick! And aren’t they just the cutest with a little gingerbread man on top?

Surprisingly, this is a fairly easy recipe to make! You only need 5 ingredients + water. The actual preparation takes about 20 minutes, but you’ll need a couple hours for the jello to chill and set. And then the fun part…decorating!!

So let’s get to it!

Instructions

To Prep: Place the plastic shot glasses on a baking sheet or in a muffin tin. This will make it easier to move them all in and out of the fridge to chill.

  2. In a large bowl, stir together Bailey’s, butterscotch schnapps, vodka, gingerbread syrup, and cold
    water.
  3. Whisk in 4 envelopes unflavored gelatin, until completely dissolved.
  4. Pour in the 2 cups of boiling water and mix well.
  5. Pour the jello shot mixture into the plastic cups and chill in the refrigerator until completely set.
  6. When ready to serve, top with whipped cream, Christmas sprinkles, and a mini gingerbread man cookie.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Gingerbread Syrup?

Gingerbread syrup is a flavoring that is used in coffees, drinks, etc. There are different brands available such as Monin, Torani, etc. I linked to one of them in the ingredients list above, but you may be able to find something similar in a specialty foods store or even the coffee aisle at the grocery store.

As an alternative, you can make your own gingerbread simple syrup at home! You’ll need:

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

To make it, heat the water and sugar in a saucepan, stirring until all of the sugar is dissolved. Add the molasses, ginger, and cinnamon and stir until combined. Cook for 2-3 more minutes, to give all the flavors a change to come together.

How Long Can You Keep Jello Shots In The Fridge?

Jello shots can last up to a week refrigerated, so they are a great party recipe to make ahead of time. If preparing them in advance, I recommend putting lids on top of the condiment cups, to protect the jello.
