If you've been eyeing one of the powerful Cricut cutting machines, but wondered, "is Cricut worth the price?" we've got the answers! Keep reading for a breakdown of what a Cricut does, how to get the best price on Cricut Maker and other machines, as well as what makes Cricut products such an awesome value!

Is the Cricut Maker Worth it?

Cricut offers two lines of cutting machines: Cricut Maker and the Cricut Explore family (Explore Air, Explore Air 2, and Explore One). Both model lines can cut over 100 different materials!

Cricut also produces the EasyPress 2 heat transfer iron, in a variety of sizes.

Since I personally own the Cricut Maker and the EasyPress 2 and EasyPress Mini, those are the specific machines that I’ll talk most about.

The following are five of the main reasons I love my Cricut machines:

  1. Cricut machines are professional quality products, at a price point that makes them do-able for personal ownership.
  2. There are a lot of ways to save on Cricut machines and products, such as bundles.
  3. You can create almost anything with a Cricut – so much more than just T-shirts!
  4. Use your Cricut as a side hustle and it could pay for itself, and then some!
  5. Instead of ordering pricey personalized gifts for birthday, Christmas, and other occasions, you can make them yourself!

Now let’s go into more detail about each of the above points!

Q: Is a Cricut Worth it?

A: Commercial cutting machines typically cost thousands of dollars. Laser cutting machines can even run into the tens of thousands of dollars!

A Cricut Maker is a professional quality cutting machine, built to fit on your crafting table at home. The price of a Cricut Maker is a lot lower than a commercial machine too!

Since most of us crafters don’t need to cut carbon steel, a home cutting machine like the Cricut Maker is more than enough to meet our needs. I’ve barely even scratched the surface of all the things my Cricut can do!

Q: Are Cricut bundles worth it?

A: 100% YES!! If you’re looking to purchase your first Cricut machine, I highly suggest opting for a bundle like the Cricut Maker + Everything Materials Bundle.

Q: What Can You Make with a Cricut?

A: Almost anything! Like I mentioned above, I have so much to learn still, but I’ve been trying out a variety of different projects.

The Cricut Maker is a vinyl cutting machine, paper cutting machine, fabric cutting machine…and so much more!

Here are a few of the Cricut products we’ve made so far:

We just got the Cricut EasyPress Mini, so I have a few projects on my list to make this month for Christmas gifts. The EasyPress Mini can handle intricate details and iron in hard to reach places that the regular EasyPress won’t fit. So excited to try it!

Which brings me to the next reason I love my Cricut machines…

Q: Can You Make Money with a Cricut?

A: Yes! And you can SAVE money too!

I know a lot of crafters who  use their Cricut machines to create crafts to sell in online shops and local craft fairs. It can be an great side hustle and way to make extra cash from home!

While I don’t sell my own creations, I do use my Cricut machines to make personalized gifts for friends and family. Instead of buying expensive personalized gifts made-to-order…I make them myself for a fraction of the cost!

If you look at it that way, a Cricut could pay for itself! No wonder the Cricut Maker, EasyPress 2, and Explore Air are widely regarded as some of the best tools for crafters!
