Copycat Little Caesars Crazy Bread

Growing up, we had a Little Caesar’s in our local Kmart store. I remember begging my mom to buy me a little bag of their breadsticks…or a Slush Puppy! Talk about the ultimate treat for a 5-year old!!

Little Caesar’s is famous for their “Crazy Bread,” which is what they call their breadsticks. But you don’t have to go out to get them….it’s actually super easy to make your own crazy bread at home with our 4-ingredient copycat recipe!

What IS Crazy Bread?

Little Caesar’s Crazy Bread is pizza dough that’s coated in butter and sprinkled with garlic salt and parmesan cheese, then baked and cut into slices. Basically: cheesy breadsticks! It’s so simple, but every bite is filled with buttery garlic and savory parmesan. It’s a treat for the taste buds!

Using just four simple ingredients, you can make your own copycat version of the classic Little Caesar’s Cheesy bread at home that will always be hot…and ready in no time! And the best part…there’s no messing around with yeast or flour with our shortcut recipe!

Instructions

To Prep: Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.

  1. Roll out the pizza dough onto your prepared pan. Use a pizza cutter to slice the dough into strips – we ended up with 16 breadsticks. Do this carefully to not scratch your pan or baking mat.
  2. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the tops of the breadsticks just start to turn golden brown.
  3. While the dough is cooking, melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Once melted, stir in the garlic salt.
  4. Remove the cooked breadsticks from the oven and brush the garlic butter mixture on top. Sprinkle generously with grated parmesan cheese.

Prep Tips

  • Yield – We sliced our breadsticks lengthwise, and then cut them into strips, for 16 breadsticks total. If you prefer a long breadstick, skip the step where you cut across the dough lengthwise and instead just cut into 8 strips.
  • Serve With – At Little Caesars, they serve the breadsticks with a side of “crazy sauce.” You can re-create this with your own favorite marinara sauce for dipping or any of your favorite dips.
  • Variations – Want to switch up the flavor a bit? Try sprinkling with Italian seasoning!

How To Store Homemade Breadsticks

Homemade breadsticks keep best at room temperature. The fridge can dry out the bread. Make sure the bread is completely cool, then wrap in foil or store into a freezer bag or airtight container.

To reheat, I recommend using the toaster oven if you have one. Otherwise, you can place leftover breadsticks on a cookie sheet and into the oven while it preheats. When the oven comes to temperature, your breadsticks should be warmed throughout. Just keep an eye on them so they do not burn.

You can also freeze the breadsticks if you want to make a batch ahead of time so they’ll be ready for later. But honestly, this recipe is so easy that freezing them doesn’t even save that much time over making them fresh!
