My house is covered in photographs — for a busy mom it was the easiest way to decorate. When I visit (childless) friends and family, I swoon over their fancy decor, glassware, etc., but with two young children having anything breakable or valuable within their reach is a recipe for disaster.
My brother is a professional photographer, so I asked if he could pretty please take a picture of the girls together in their matching Christmas coats. He seemed to be dragging his feet getting the finished product back to me, but turns out that he had done something even better than simply editing and printing.
He took the photo and made it into a work of photo art using paint and pen. Our backyard was kind of a lame backdrop, and the girls were originally sitting in a lawn chair. Now they are sitting in a throne with a bright, almost kid-like grass and sky background — so fun and so cool!
I have no idea his exact technique, but wanted to share this photo art inspiration in case there are any mamas like me who love their photos, but might like an idea for how to jazz them up. Or you can check out his website if you want a pro to do the work for you: dannygarska.com
Happy decorating!
