Corncob Flower Stamping Craft
Create beautiful spring flowers using corncobs as stamps! This is an easy all-ages kids craft that uses simple supplies.
Corn Cob Flower Stamping
We usually give our old corn cobs to the chickens, but one day we were making art and my middle daughter had an idea. She coated the end of one of the cobs with paint and used it as a stamp to make flowers.
Her corncob flowers looked so pretty that I just had to share the idea!
This fun and easy craft is perfect for kids of all ages. All you need are a few simple supplies, and you’ll be able to create beautiful flowers in no time.
PS- This would also be a fantastic way to decorate aย Mother’s Day card!
Let’s make them!

Tips & Enrichment Activities
What Can You Do With The Corn Cobs When You’re Done Painting?
I’ve seen other types of vegetable stamping (for example, potato Easter egg stamps) criticized as “wasting” food. However, if you use washable paints, you can add the veggies to your compost pile afterwards. If you’re a gardener like me, compost helps you grow more veggies! If you don’t have a compost pile, consider saving your scraps for someone who does.
Four Parts of the Flower (For Kids)
Not only is this stamping craft a fun art activity, it can also be used as a way to learn about the basic parts of a flower!
- Petals – Flower petals look pretty for a reason: to attract pollinating insects.
- Seeds – The middle part of the flower contains the reproductive parts, which once pollinated will produce seeds to make new flowers.
- Stem – Supports the flower and keeps it standing upright. The stem also is the pathway for water and nutrients to get from the soil to the rest of the plant.
- Leaves – This is where photosynthesis takes place, which is essentially how plants covert sunlight into their own food.
