Prep Tips
- Substitutions – Green Hawaiian Punch is the PERFECT color for our green Grinch punch, however, in a pinch you could use green Kool-Aid or similar beverage.
- Garnishes – We topped our punch with whipped cream and red heart sprinkles, to give it that special touch. If you don’t have red heart sprinkles, you can make your own by using red candy melts and a piping bag, like we did for our Grinch cookies. You could also use regular red and green Christmas sprinkles on top or maraschino cherries.
- Alcohol – We used plain vodka in our Grinch punch with alcohol because it is neutral in flavor and blends well with just about everything. You could also use silver or light rum instead. Even silver tequila (tequila blanco) could work! And again, you can skip the liquor altogether to make this a non-alcoholic Grinch punch (more on that in the FAQ section below).
- Sherbet – Instead of whipped cream, you could top each serving of punch with a scoop of lime sherbet or vanilla ice cream. This is perfect if you’re making a kids’ version or you would like it to taste more like a dessert.
- Serving – We made a grinch punch pitcher, but this holiday party punch could also be served in a traditional large punch bowl with a ladle.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can You Make This A Kids Grinch Punch?
To make a non-alcoholic version of this drink is super easy! Replace the vodka with lemon-lime soda, such as Sprite or 7-up for a fizzy punch that everyone in the family can enjoy.
Can You Make This Punch In Advance?
This punch can be made up to a day or two in advance, because it doesn’t use any bubbly ingredients like soda. If preparing ahead of time, mix in a pitcher WITHOUT ice, so the drink doesn’t get watered down. Keep covered and refrigerated until you’re ready to serve.
