Caramel Apple Jello Shots
Caramel apples are such a fun fall treat, but they’re hard to eat!
These caramel apple jello shots have all the flavors of those sweet and sour treats, but without any worries about chipped teeth! And these grown-up caramel apples have a boozy twist!
First, we started with a layer of sour apple gelatin which matches the tart Granny Smith apple flavors of a real caramel apple. Then we topped our jello shots with a layer of smooth, creamy caramel sauce for the perfect balance. Sweet, sour, and spiked!
These caramel apple jello shots are not only super tasty, they’re also super easy to make! With just 4 simple ingredients, you can whip up a batch with little prep time. In fact most of your time will be spent waiting for the jello to set…but it will be worth the wait!

Instructions
This recipe only takes about 20 minutes to prepare, but you will need to allow a couple hours total time so the jello can set. Be sure to plan ahead!
- Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan. When the water is boiling, remove the pan from heat and whisk in the apple jello until dissolved.
- Stir in the apple liqueur and pour the jello mixture into plastic cups.
- Refrigerate the jello shots until completely set.
- Top with caramel sauce and chill until ready to serve.
Prep Tips
- Reduced Sugar – You can make a lower sugar version of this recipe by using sugar-free jello and sugar free caramel sauce. Apple schnapps have sugar, but you could substitute with vodka for a practically sugar free version.
- Chilling the Jello –ย Place the shot cups on a cookie sheet or in a muffin tin so they are easy to move to the fridge to chill, without spilling. It will take a couple hours for the gelatin to fully set.
- Garnish – You could add sour apple gummies as a fun and festive topping for these jello shots!
- Prep Ahead – Jello shots last for a few days in the fridge, so you could make these ahead of time and keep them refrigerated until you’re ready to serve. If doing so, I recommend using plastic lids for your cups.
