This decadent Nutella fudge is almost too good for words! Rich, smooth, and loaded with chocolate flavor, it’s truly a treat! Even better, this 3 ingredient fudge recipe is so easy that it’s practically foolproof!

Easy Nutella Microwave Fudge

Confession time…

I LOVE NUTELLA.

Like, really really love it.

During my college days (when I had a faster metabolism), I used to keep a jar of Nutella in my pantry at all times. I would grab a spoonful whenever I needed a little chocolate deliciousness in my life.

Wait…did I actually just admit that??

Well, now ya know!

If you love Nutella as much as me…or almost as much as me…then you’ve got to try this easy Nutella fudge recipe!

You only need 3 ingredients (yup, one of them is Nutella) and the recipe is pretty much foolproof! That’s right, this is a microwave fudge recipe that even beginners can handle. Whoohoo!

Why I Love This Recipe:

  • It’s far less complicated than traditional fudge. No worrying about the right temperature or over-stirring.
  • Microwave fudge is super easy! No double boilers or special equipment!
  • Only 3 simple ingredients!
  • It’s delicious!!! Obviously!!

Nutella Fudge Ingredients

Affiliate links provided for your convenience in re-creating this recipe; read disclosure policy here.

  • Milk chocolate chips or chocolate chunks — If you like your fudge extra sweet, stick with milk chocolate here. You can also use semisweet chips to make your fudge a bit less sweet. It’s up to you!
  • Nutella hazelnut spread — The star of our recipe! Imitations not accepted!
  • Sweetened condensed milk — This is not the same as regular milk or evaporated milk. You can find it in the canned foods aisle at your local grocer.

Kitchen Tools Used:

  • Microwave safe bowls — This is important! See our tips on microwaving Nutella below.
  • Small glass baking dish — We used an 8″ square dish. If you use a smaller dish, you will have thicker fudge. Conversely, a larger dish will make thinner fudge squares.
  • Non-stick cooking spray — To prevent sticking. You could also use a layer of parchment paper in the bottom of your pan. Be sure to cover the sides too.

Can You Microwave Nutella?

Never microwave Nutella in its original container!!

Often, when you remove the foil seal on top of the jar, there is a small bit that gets stuck to the rim. It’s pretty hard to get ALL of the foil off, and even a small bit of foil will spark in the microwave.

Also, the jar is made of plastic, so it is not microwave safe.

When microwaving Nutella, always scoop into a microwave safe dish.

However, for this recipe you won’t actually need to microwave the Nutella, as it will stir right into the hot melted chocolate. So easy!

Nutella fans rejoice!! This Nutella microwave fudge is beyond easy and oh-so-delicious! Only 3 ingredients!

How to Make Nutella Fudge

First, prepare a small baking pan or casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray or parchment paper.

Place the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in 30 second intervals to melt the chocolate, stirring between each interval. Do this until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Mine took about a minute and a half to melt fully. You could use a double boiler, but we use the microwave because it’s easier and faster.

TIP: Be sure to handle carefully, as even microwave safe bowls may become hot during the cooking process.

When chocolate mixture is smooth, scoop into your prepared pan and smooth the surface with the back of a spoon or spatula.

Refrigerate until firm (at least 2 hours).

When you’re ready to serve, pop the fudge out of your pan and onto a cutting board. Slice into squares with a chef’s knife.

How to Store Homemade Fudge

You can store homemade fudge at room temperature or the fridge, depending on your preference. Refrigerating fudge may help to extend the life slightly.

  • Fudge stored at room temperature will last 1-2 weeks.
  • Fudge store in the fridge will last up to a month.

Place your fudge in an airtight container such as a rubbermaid container or large freezer bag. You may want to place parchment paper between layers to prevent the fudge squares from sticking to each other.

Keep in mind that when fudge is refrigerated, it may be hard to bite into at first because it’s cold. If that’s an issue, be sure to let it thaw a bit first, or store it on the counter instead.

If you notice that your fudge becomes hard or crumbly, it’s likely past its prime. That’s usually not a problem in our house though because sweets don’t last that long anyway…if you catch my drift!

What Can You Substitute for Sweetened Condensed Milk?

This is a bit tricky, because sweetened condensed milk is a very unique ingredient. Regular milk won’t work. Neither will evaporated milk.

Cream of coconut is your best bet as a substitute for sweetened condensed milk. (This is not the same thing as coconut cream). Coco Lopez is our go-to for recipes that call for cream of coconut.

Keep in mind that this will have a slightly different flavor than sweetened condensed milk. I haven’t personally tried this substitution when making our Nutella fudge, so I’m not sure exactly how it works with Nutella taste-wise.

Made this tonight. I made it with semi sweet chocolate- can’t taste the Nutella at all. Still a rich, chocolate flavor possibly enhanced by the Nutella . Will try again using the milk chocolate chips.
