Christmas Mimosas

If you’re planning a holiday brunch, I have the perfect holiday themed mimosa recipe to share! These easy Christmas Mimosas add a festive twist to the classic brunch cocktail, made with cranberry juice instead of orange juice. There are only 2 ingredients, so it really doesn’t get any easier than this! (And anything that is easy is a plus around the hectic holiday season!)

To create our cranberry mimosas, we took the classic cocktail and swapped out the juices. Then we added festive touches like fresh cranberries and rosemary to give these simple drinks a beautiful look. How amazing would these look on your holiday party table?! Oh, and they taste fabulous too!

Ingredients

  • Champagne or Sparkling Wine
  • Cranberry Juice

We used a ratio of 2:1 sparkling wine to juice, but you can easily adjust to your taste. For a lighter drink, use a mixture of more juice and less champagne.

Optional Garnish Ideas

  • Fresh Cranberries
  • Sprig of Fresh Rosemary

Prep Tips

  • Champagne – You can use any type of champagne or sparkling wine you like for this recipe. I particularly like prosecco, Spanish Cava, and sparkling chardonnay. You could even use something that is sweeter, such as moscato. Anything that is light and bubbly will work!
  • Cranberry Juice – We used 100% real cranberry juice for this drink, but keep in mind that this will be fairly tart. You can always add a splash of simple syrup or use a sweeter sparkling wine to tone down the tartness of the cranberries. Alternatively, you could use cranberry juice cocktail, which is already sweetened, or cranberry juice flavors such as cran-apple juice.
  • Prep Time – Due to the carbonation of the champagne, this is a drink that can’t really be made too far ahead of time. However, it’s super easy to prepare and you can whip up a batch in minutes! I recommend chilling the cranberry juice and the sparkling wine in the refrigerator, so everything is ice cold and ready to go. Do not use a cocktail shaker to chill.
  • Non-Alcoholic Version – To make a kid-friendly or alcohol-free version of this drink, simply substitute ginger ale for the sparkling wine.
  • Garnishes – We used fresh cranberries and a sprig of fresh rosemary to pretty up our drinks. I think the rosemary looks so much like a piece of fresh pine tree! If you really feel like getting fancy, you could use sugared cranberries. Another idea could be pomegranate pearls.
