? Creepy Crawler Cocktail

Halloween happy hour anyone??

Full of citrus flavors…and a few little creepy crawlers…. this Halloween punch is a spooky delight, just in time for October!

We made this drink in a big batch that is perfect for a Halloween party. Just pour, stir, and chill! It doesn’t get any easier, and this creepy concoction is sure to get your guests talking!

This is one of my favorite spooky cocktails because it is made with fruit juices (so it actually tastes really good) and it doesn’t have any food coloring (no teeth staining!) It’s also easy to modify or make as a fun punch that the whole family can enjoy. See the FAQ section for more details!

Prep Tips

  • Make sure to use black or dark-colored toy spiders so they are easily seen and noticed in the glass. We served with straws so there would be no chance of accidentally swallowing a spider and I highly recommend doing the same.
  • You could also skip the toy spiders and use candy creepy crawlers instead, such as sour gummy worms or bugs draped over the rim of the glass. That way everything is edible.
  • This is a very sweet drink, but you can tone down the sweetness by swapping club soda for the lemon-lime soda.
  • Change up the look of this drink by adding green food coloring…extra creepy!

Frequently Asked Questions

? Where Do I Find Guava Juice?

Guava juice is a favorite in our household! My husband’s stepfather was Cuban, so he grew up with Cuban foods and we incorporate a lot of them in our recipes.

Guava juice has a unique flavor โ€” I’d describe it as a combination of sweet pear and tart cranberry. That sweet and sour taste makes it delicious in drinks!

Most grocery stores will sell guava juice in the international or Latin foods aisle. It may also be labeled “Guava Nectar.”

โญ๏ธ Can This Be Made For Kids?

If you want to make this into a family-friendly or non-alcoholic drink, you can simply up the juice and soda amounts to take the place of the alcohol.

If making a creepy crawly kids drink, I would not add small spiders to the cup because they could be a choking hazard. I would instead put one BIG spider on top of each cup OR glue the small spiders to the straw. That way you get the spooky look, without loose spiders in the drink. You could also do this if serving for grown-ups too!

Another option is to use gummy candy for your creepy-crawlies, like suggested in the prep tips.
