Nutter Butter Chicks Easter Cookies

I’m not a big junk food fan, but Nutter Butter cookies are one of my favorite guilty pleasures!

They’re also a unique shape that is just the right amount of quirky for holidays kids treatsย โ€” we made these Nutter Butter Football Players and Nutter Butter Penguins last year. So fun and perfect for parties!

These Nutter Butter Chicks are my favorite creation yet! They are irresistibly cute! And of course, they taste amazing too โ€” creamy peanut butter cookies wrapped in smooth white chocolate. Need I say more?

Oh, and they’re easy! No baking required! (In our family, it is my husband who is the talent of the kitchen, so this is music to my amateur ears!)

Let’s get making!

How to make Baby Chick Nutter Butters (Photo Tutorial)

Dip each Nutter Butter cookie into the melted yellow chocolate, turning to coat.

TIP: If you’re handy with chopsticks, they work perfectly for this step! You can also use a fork.

Allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl, then place coated Nutter Butters on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper to dry.

TIP: We also love these non-stick silicone baking mats because the cookies pop right off when they’re ready!

Allow chocolate to set completely.

While cookies harden, scoop the rest of the yellow chocolate into a piping bag and clean out the double boiler pot.

Using your double boiler, melt your white chocolate. Add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil to thin the chocolate.

Scoop melted white chocolate into a plastic piping bag and cut off the tip of the bag, so that you have an opening about the size of a fine-point marker tip.

Decorating Nutter Butter cookies to look like baby chicks for Easter

Draw an outline of a cracked eggshell around the top and bottom of the Nutter Butter, leaving the middle 1/3 of the cookie yellow.

Allow the outline to set for 5-10 minutes, then fill in your “eggshells” completely with white chocolate.

Add a small dollop of white chocolate onto the back of the candy eyes, then gently press eyes onto the middle of your cookie, just under the top eggshell.

Dip the orange M&M into the still melted yellow chocolate (reheat if needed). Place one M&M into the middle of the cookie to make the nose, with yellow chocolate holing it in place.
