Summer Camp at Home with Camp in a Box

Kids Activities

What’s Inside: How to create an awesome summer camp at home experience for your kids — on any budget! We’ll give you a sneak peek at what’s inside Camp in a Box, as well as some totally FREE resources with summer camp activities! Sponsored by Connect Camps.

How to create an awesome summer camp at home experience for your kids -- on any budget!

Summer Camp at Home

Staying home is the safest place for our family right now, but let’s face it, kids start to get a little (ok..a LOT) stir-crazy after a while.

If you’re looking for ideas to do summer camp at home with your kids, you’ve come to the right place! We’ll show you the best all-inclusive summer camp kit, as well as freebies to help create your own summer camp at home!

When it comes to the best value in a summer camp kit, Camp in a Box is hands-down the winner! It is the closest thing I’ve found to a true summer camp experience, without actually attending an in-person camp.

What is Camp in a Box?

Camp in a Box is is a complete day camp experience for kids ages K-8th grade — delivered right to your doorstep! It’s literally a camp in a box!

I have fond memories of attending Vacation Bible School every summer as a kid, and I’m so excited to give my kids a similar experience — from the comfort and safety of our own home!

Our family received 2 Deluxe Boxes to review and I was beyond impressed!

Connect Camps thoughtfully prepared each box with exactly what you need for every activity. The supplies for each activity are bagged and labeled, and these activity bags are then organized into larger bags by the type of activity (Built-it-Up, Painting, & Science Lab).

Camp in a Box Perks:

  • Includes an entire week of hands-on activities, Bible study, and worship.
  • The camp itinerary can be customized to fit your schedule — you go at your own pace!
  • Parents can participate as much as they’d like, or let camp counselors lead the way via the digital camp videos.
  • It’s an awesome way to spend time together as a family this summer!

Here’s what’s inside the Deluxe Box:

  • 4 All-inclusive skill kits, each with one activity for every day of the week (supplies included!)
  • Access to online Dance Party videos
  • Interactive Bible study booklet
  • Camp T-Shirt
  • Camp Culture Kit
  • Access to online camp content, with high-energy worship videos, activity instruction videos, and more!

In addition to the Deluxe Box that our family reviewed, Connect Camps also offers a Basic Box, Digital Box, and Family Box — each designed to meet your family’s needs and budget.

Why I Love Camp in a Box as a Parent

In every box there are lots of high-quality activities that entertain the kids for hours, keep their brains thinking and learning, and nourish their spirit. We’ve made slime, created intricate string art, and even built miniature catapults!

The best part is that everything you need for all of the activities is IN the box! You don’t need to go buy additional supplies. Even better, all of the supplies are organized by activity and clearly labeled.

In addition to the physical box, your Camp in a Box purchase includes access to a wealth of digital content:

  • Daily worship through song and dance, led by camp counselors
  • Daily Bible study videos with the Camp Pastor
  • Instructional videos demonstrating how to set up and complete each activity
  • Video-led recreational activities to get kids moving

FAQs about Camp in a Box

These are some of MY own questions that I had before checking out Camp in a Box. I hope they help you to get a better idea of why I love it so much!

Does it take a lot of time for parents to set up and run the camp?

To be honest, this was my biggest worry about committing to a full week of day camp at home. We just got finished with months of distance learning after all!

The online content perfectly supplements the Camp in a Box experience and is designed to make things as easy as possible for parents — the videos lead kids through everything and are fun to watch!

Each activity has a 10-15 minute video where camp counselors demonstrate how to set up the activity, just like if kids were at an in-person camp.

All you have to do as a parent is press play!

Do you need to buy any supplies for the activities?

Nope! Supplies are included! The only additional things you need need are scissors, a pencil, and glue — things you likely already have at home. Everything else is already in the box, grouped by activity, and clearly labeled.

This is my favorite part of the Camp in a Box — it really is all-inclusive! You just open the box and get started right away!
