“The Jolly Rancher”

When I was in college, it was a thing to add Jolly Rancher candies to a bottle of Zima to make it taste fruity. This Jolly Rancher cocktail uses the same idea, but in a mixed drink.

This light and bubbly vodka cocktail gets fruity flavor as the Jolly Ranchers melt into it. You can make one flavor (I love cherry!) or you can mix all of them to make a grown-up fruit punch.

Another thing I love about this drink is that it looks super cool! The Jolly Ranchers are bright and colorful, creating a rainbow inside your cup. How fun is that?!

And with just 3 ingredients, it’s about as easy as it gets to make this drink!

This refreshing drink is perfect for sipping poolside or any summer occasion.

Prep Tips

  • When making your drink, you can use one flavor of candy or try a mixture for a fruit punch effect. So many fun ways to make it!
  • When choosing a vodka, I recommend picking something that you like and would enjoy on its own. You don’t have to get the most expensive vodka, as you’ll be mixing soda and candy in it after all. But a decent quality vodka will make the drink taste better overall.
  • Don’t over-muddle the candy when mixing the drink because it’s fun to allow the candy to melt slowly on their own. If you stir a lot at first and they dissolve too fast, the drink may become very sweet. But if you prefer a sweet drink, go right ahead and stir, stir, stir! That’s what’s so fun about the drink: it’s super customizable to make it your own!
  • For a sweeter drink, add lots of candy! For a less sweet drink, add 3-5 candies at most. You can always toss in more candy if you want to sweeten it up later.
  • We used vodka for this recipe, but it would also work well with light rum or silver rum. You could also try silver tequila!
