Apple Cider Ginger Mule Mocktail

There’s nothing like sipping a crisp, fizzy drink that tastes just like fall — and this Apple Cider Mule Mocktail delivers! It’s sweet, tangy, and perfectly balanced with a warming blend of apple cider, zesty ginger beer, and a bright splash of lime. The flavors blend together to create a refreshing drink that feels like the real thing — but without any alcohol, so everyone can enjoy it. (If you want a boozy version, try our Fall Apple Cider Mule recipe!)

If you’ve never had a ginger mule before, it’s traditionally a cocktail made with vodka, ginger beer, and lime juice — known for its spicy kick and citrusy sparkle. This mocktail version keeps all those delicious flavors, swapping the vodka for apple cider to give it that cozy autumn twist. It’s festive, family-friendly, and just as fun to serve at fall parties, holiday dinners, or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

  • Apple cider
  • Orange juice
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Honey or maple syrup
  • Ginger beer

Garnish Ideas

Helpful Bartending Tools

  • Cocktail Shaker (I prefer the Boston shaker style – it’s what I used in all my years of bartending)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass – Fill a cocktail glass or copper mug with ice cubes.
  2. Mix the drink base – In a cocktail shaker with a few ice cubes, add all of the cocktail ingredients except ginger beer and give a quick shake or stir to combine.
  3. Add ginger beer – Pour the apple cider mixture into the prepared glass and top with ginger beer.
  4. Garnish – Add apple slices, lime wheel, and a cinnamon stick for garnish.

Prep Tips

  • Glassware – Traditionally, a Moscow mule (what this drink is based on) is often served in a copper mug. However, you can use any glassware than you prefer.
  • Make Ahead – The drink base can be prepared ahead of time and kept refrigerated. When ready to serve, pour the drink base into a glass of ice and top with ginger beer. Do not add the ginger beer until ready to serve so it won’t lose its fizz.
  • Make it a Pitcher – The ingredient amounts in this recipe are for one serving (in a typical glass). To make a pitcher, simply triple or quadruple the ingredient amounts.
