“Dancing” Mother’s Day Flower Craft with Kid’s Photo
If you want to know the way straight to my heart, it is through a homemade card with a hand-written message!
My husband finally got the hint and now he’s become quite adept at writing sweet birthday, anniversary, and Mother’s Day cards that literally make me tear up!
My oldest daughter is also a pro at making homemade cards for any occasion and any family member – her cards are seriously the best and so thoughtful!
She was a big help in creating this dancing foam flower craft! I just love how these turned out!
Whether you’re looking for a fun spring kid craft or a Mother’s Day card idea, these dancing foam flowers are perfect! They’re easy to make with simple supplies and unlike a traditional card, you can hang them on the fridge without covering up the sweet message that’s written on them.

Now It’s Time to Get Crafting!
Trace the pattern onto craft foam or thick cardstock (we used one color for the pot and one color for the flower). Cut out the pieces of craft foam.
Cut out child’s photo in the shape of a circle and attach to the middle of the foam flower. You can also cut out a slightly larger circle of yellow craft foam to place behind the photo to really make it pop.
Attach jumbo craft stick to back of flower (about 1″ of craft stick should be glued to flower, with the rest sticking out of the bottom of the flower).
Cut out a rectangular piece of scrap craft foam (about 1/2 inch by 2-3 inches) and glue to the back of the flower pot, leaving a 1″ space in the middle that the craft stick can slide though.
Slide the craft stick between the tab and the flower pot. We also glued a small tab of foam to the bottom of the craft stick to keep it from falling out.
Attach foam leaves to the back of your flower and decorate the front of your flower pot with a message for mom.
Feel free to use one of our ideas or create your own custom poem!
You can also use pom-poms, stickers, glitter, etc. to decorate your flower pot and make it extra special!
