Prep Tips

  • Make your strawberry milkshake look extra festive by garnishing with whipped cream, sprinkles, Valentine’s Day straws, or any other fun decorations.
  • After you put frosting and candy hearts on the rim of the jar, pop the jar into the freezer for a few minutes to help set the frosting so the hearts stay in place. This will also chill the glass so your milkshake stays colder longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Make This Without Alcohol?

Of course! These milkshakes would be so much fun to make for kids too and it’s simple to make a family-friendly version. To do so, skip the tequila rose and add more strawberry milk instead.

Can I Make This Recipe In A Blender?

Want to make a big batch of Valentine milkshakes? All you have to do is double, triple, quadruple the recipe depending on how many servings you’d like to make. Add ingredients to a blender and mix until smooth. If the milkshake is too thick, add a little more strawberry milk. If it’s too runny, add more ice cream, until you have the consistency you like.

Can I Make This Recipe Dairy Free?

If making the non-alcoholic version, you can easily make this into a dairy free recipe by using plant-based strawberry ice cream and non-dairy strawberry milk (or vanilla milk mixed with strawberry syrup).

Tequila rose is made with dairy cream, so if you want to make a non-dairy boozy milkshake, I recommend using something else, such as a strawberry rum.
