Chocolate Strawberry Cocktail

On one of our first Valentine’s Days together, my husband gave me homemade chocolate covered strawberries. They were so pretty and delicious!

This strawberries and cream cocktail tastes just like a chocolate covered strawberry, in drinkable form! It’s smooth, fruity, creamy, and decadent. My favorite part of this recipe is the chocolate coated martini glass! It adds a little bit of chocolate flavor and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

This is a fancy drink that would be perfect to make for your sweetheart, or to share with the girls on Galentine’s Day! It’s a sweet drink, almost like a strawberry shake…dessert in a glass! It’s also not as strong as most cocktails, so it’s great if you just want a little something, but don’t want it overly boozy.

Cheers!

Ingredients

For your convenience, I’ve included shop-able ad links to some of the products used to make this recipe; read our disclosure policy here.

  • 2 oz Baileys Strawberries and Cream — A blend of strawberry and vanilla flavors, mixed with original Irish cream liqueur. Feel free to use another similar strawberry cream liqueur if needed.
  • 2 oz White Creme de Cacao
  • 3/4 cup Strawberries — Washed, with stems removed
  • 1 cup Ice
  • 1 cup Ghirardelli Chocolate Wafers — Or similar milk chocolate melting wafers
  • 1/2 cup Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer — You could also swap for whipped cream

Helpful Kitchen Tools

  • Blender
  • Milk Frother

Instructions

We served our drinks with a milk chocolate rim on the glass. If you don’t want to do that, you can skip right to the drink instructions.

To Make The Chocolate Rim

  1. Place chocolate melting wafers in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in 20 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth.
  2. Dip the top 1/2″ of the glasses into the melted chocolate. Flip them right-side-up so the melted chocolate drips down the sides of the glasses a bit.
  3. Place in freezer to chill and harden the chocolate.

Drink Directions

  1. Add the liquors, fresh strawberries, and ice to blender and blend on high speed until you have a smooth texture.
  2. Pour the strawberry-cream mixture into the prepared glasses until about 3/4 of the way full.
  3. Pour creamer in large glass and use a milk frother to create a foam.
  4. Spoon the foam on top of your drinks and garnish with a fresh strawberry.

Prep Tips

  • If you don’t have a milk frother, you can top your drinks with whipped cream instead.
  • Instead of milk chocolate, you could use white chocolate or dark chocolate to make the chocolate coated rim for your glasses. You could even jazz it up by dipping the wet chocolate in Valentine sprinkles.
  • Make it a float by topping with a scoop of ice cream instead of the foam. Either classic vanilla ice cream or strawberry ice cream would be fabulous!
  • We served our drinks in a wine glass, but you could use any type of martini glass or cocktail glass or even a pint mason jar for this recipe.
  • This recipe yields 2 servings, but since you’re making it in a blender, you could double the recipe amounts and make a bigger batch.
  • Store any leftovers in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.
  • Want to kick things up a notch? Add 2 ounces of whipping cream vodka to the mix!
